D1Edu was first developed to explore the possibility of tracking test scores in the Airlines Education Department.
The site was nothing more than a login screen that took you to an online test.
The lack of an interface prompted the request for something a little more usable.
The database was revamped to allow for more functionality, and the site started to blossom.
|
| Once everything was in place, it was easier to see the direction this project was going to take.
Options were added to allow for any number of testing flavors. Test summaries, online certificates,
and email notifications were implimented to make life on the instructors easier. The site in it's entirety
now automates 90% of instructors' tasks and also makes it possible to hold online classes which cuts company
travelling costs.

Part of the instructors' job description is developing web-based CBT's (Computer Based Training).
Prior to the existence of D1Edu, CBT's were delivered via CD to the field. Today's ever evolving
technology made it extremely difficult and confusing to keep them up-to-date in the field.
Adding these CBT's to D1Edu was the next logical step. New CBT's are easily added to the database and
each is linked to the online testing system.
|
| The CBT's often have downloadable files for configuring certain types of hardware and software.
It didn't take long to figure out that D1Edu was in need of a dynamic and searchable file archive.
The download section isn't fancy by any means, but it's flexibility allows you to find the file you need instantly.

 |
Having a searchable "downloads" section prompted the idea of having a database driven dynamic knowledge base to replace the
old static html based one. Supporting multiple accounts from one department meant searching had to be a very flexible.
Searching and sorting results on D1Edu has a very similar feel to that of Google.

As much as I'd love to have people surfing all over this masterpiece I've created, I can only show certain screenshots.
There is proprietery information on this server and I am entrusted to keep confidential information private.
